I am an experienced and driven developer with nearly 20 years of commercial experience delivering web-based software solutions. For the vast majority of my career, I have worked mainly with JavaScript to deliver games that target the gambling industry. Earlier in my career, I worked mainly with LAMP web service stacks, before moving away from web development to develop gaming solutions for various companies.

When I first started making games I was primarily working with Adobe Flash before the release of HTML5 which opened to door to creating games in JavaScript via the canvas. In the early days I helped develop a games framework that proved HTML5 canvas was usable and in fact a drastic improvement to Adobe Flash based games. Since then various 2D game frameworks have been developed and we have seen PixiJS establish itself as an industry standard. I have used PixiJS for years now.

I pioneered Core Gaming’s entry into 3D games. We are currently developing multiple games that are either completely 3D or a hybrid including both 2D PixiJS as well as 3D elements. The work is both challenging and rewarding and I look forward to seeing the games when they are released on public casinos.

In recent years I have been leading and managing teams of developers and I have recently acquired a qualification in Leadership & Management from Leeds Beckett University. I am really enjoying the management side of my day-to-day and see it as my best opportunity for stretch.

Over recent years me and my wife Harriet have welcomed our daughter Amelia and our son Jack to the family and we couldn’t be happier with our little family. I consider myself to be a family man and spend as much of my free time with family and friends as possible. I am a keen gamer and used to play Quake 3 Arena for England in my youth. I find it hard to dedicate time to new games recently so I usually play mobile games or Nintendo Switch now. I also enjoy football and follow Aston Villa, I used to be a season ticket holder but I have had to give that up because of family obligations. I am also a keen golfer and play as a member of the UAB golf society which gets me to a few new golf courses each year.
